Despite the wet weather conditions at the weekend over 1000 people attended the free Family Fun Day in Birkenhead Park held by Wirral Partnership Homes.

The fun day, held on Saturday 9 th August, gave residents the chance to enjoy a free family day out and allowed them to find out about the work WPH is doing in communities across the borough.

Various activities available on the day included free face painting, hair braiding, paint-a-jigsaw, fair rides , bouncy castles, custom-made bird tables, Star Wars Stormtroopers, a samba band and much more!

Raffles and a tombola offered residents a chance to win fantastic prizes including a DVD recorder, signed copies of singer Duffy’s album and a free limousine ride. Prizes were kindly donated by local companies, WPH partners and staff.  All funds raised will be donated to Cancer Research.

Brian Simpson, Chief Executive of WPH, said: “Our Family Fun Day was a great success, despite the wet weather conditions! There were plenty of free activities to keep the kids entertained and residents also had the chance to learn more about the work we’re doing to help create sustainable communities.”
