Supported Housing Services

SUPPORTED HOUSING SERVICES FOR VULNERABLE PEOPLE

WPH provides a range of quality services that enable individuals to live independently in their home and within their community. We involve our tenants in developing services at every stage.

Sheltered Service for Older People

WPH provide support to over 1800 older tenants living in flats within purpose schemes or within dispersed bungalows. Through a comprehensive assessment of need we will agree a tailored support plan with tenants that will support them to :-

  • access relevant services such as health and social care
  • participate in social activities within the schemes and community
  • manage household budgets
  • access adaptations to the home
  • maximise income and access to eligible benefits
  • become involved in shaping WPH services

Our sheltered service for older people has successfully achieved the CSHS Code of Practice quality award in recognition of the high standard of service we deliver.

If you wish to apply to WPH sheltered housing, register now with Wirral Homes (0151 691 8040) or call in to any WPH office or ring our Supported Housing Team on 0151 606 3000. Support Link

This "invisible" support service offers 24 hour access to WPH Support Link staff via a community alarm. Community alarms are available to all our sheltered tenants within their accommodation.

By simply pulling a cord or pressing a button, tenants can contact Support Link and seek assistance in cases of emergency. But we are not just there to address problems. We will also check that tenants are OK on a regular basis as part of their support plans. On a more personal note, we will even call tenants on their birthday to wish them many happy returns of the day!

For more information, contact Support Link on 0151 666 7008. You can also click on the icon below and download our leaflet (Documents available soon – SUPPORT LINK SERVICES – Note : not yet available)

Floating Support for Younger People

WPH offer support to young people between 16-25 to enable them to live independently and sustain their tenancies.

A tailored support plan will support young people in fulfilling the obligations of their tenancy. This may include similar support to that provided to our sheltered tenants but will be more specific to the needs of younger people

All young people accepting accommodation with WPH will automatically be offered this service.

The service is not exclusive to WPH tenants and is available to any young person who needs support to sustain their tenancy

For more information on how you can access this service, contact our Supported Housing Team on 0151 606 3129. Alternatively you can download our leaflet by clicking on this link FLOATING SUPPORT FOR YOUNG PEOPLE

Accessible Homes

In promoting independence for our tenants, we aim to provide housing that is accessible. This may be through the provision of adaptations to tenants' homes. WPH provides an annual budget that funds adaptations for tenants.

The adaptations we can provide include :-

  • Level access showers
  • Stairlifts
  • Door release mechanism
  • Ramps
  • Grabrails

Where alternative housing best addresses accessibility needs of tenants, we ask that they register with Wirral Homes Disabled Persons Register (LINK). Most Housing Associations in Wirral refer their accessible properties to Wirral Homes. These are then matched with people from the register. Register now with Wirral Homes on 0151 691 8040.

To apply for adaptations you can contact a dedicated member of staff on 0151 747 7600 or call into any WPH offices. You can also download the adaptations self assessment form here
