2010 Highlights

It’s that time of year again when we look forward to a busy Christmas / New Year but also take the opportunity to reflect on the achievements of the past year.

It’s certainly been a busy year within WPH with many significant achievements. Just some of the highlights that immediately spring to mind include;

·               Celebrating our 5th birthday and passing the £100 million spend mark in our Investment programme

·               Launching, at a successful AGM, our first Annual Standards Report which was sent to you all in response to the TSA Standards

·               Performance improving in nearly all service areas, especially in turning around empty properties

·               Working more flexibly and effectively to tackle ASB and standing on our own 2 feet by withdrawing from the SLA with the Council

·               Involving tenants to scrutinise our services through the ASP (Advisory and Scrutiny Panel)

·               Making £2m of savings that were reinvested within the organisation and Building Services making a profit that was also ploughed back into WPH

·               Helping our more vulnerable customers stranded by the snow

·               Receiving formal recognition for our excellent apprentice scheme

·               Working with our customers through community grants, Umbrella meetings and Bonfire parties to name but a few and a really enjoyable Conference in December when we said a BIG thank you to all our customers who work so hard improving communities throughout the year

This time last year I talked with WPH staff about the key themes of challenge, change and delivery – you won’t be too surprised to hear that the New Year will mean just as much change and challenge as you continue to expect and deserve the effective delivery of joined up services.

So thank you to all who have contributed to making 2010 a success story for WPH and I would like to wish you and your families a very Happy Christmas and prosperous New Year.

With my very best wishes,
