Environmental Grants

Read here about some of the great environmental projects WPH has helped to fund.

WPH Community Grants

Pensby Hall Community Garden (£160)
Summer 2009 saw a successful application from Pensby Hall Community Garden for plants and equipment for the community garden in Fairview way.

Community Garden (£400)
WPH contributed £400 towards a community garden being developed by residents in New Hey Road Flats in summer 2009.  Hopefully it’ll look bloomin’ marvellous in 2010 and beyond as well.

Overchurch Residents (£300)
Overchurch Residents were successful in their application for a grant to help them move a greenhouse to it’s new home and raised beds being fitted.  These are for later use by people seeking employment in gardening and related areas.

Acres of Community Space (£1000)
A previously derelict site was awarded £1000 in February 2010 following an initiative to turn the space into an attractive and thriving allotment garden.  Work has begun on the site, so we can look forward to a community growing together and sewing the seeds of a brighter future as the project develops.
