Tenant Responsibilities

Although Wirral Partnership Homes is responsible for many repairs to your home, there are certain areas that tenants are responsible for, as set out in the Tenancy Agreement. 

The table below sets out the type of repairs you are responsible for if you are a WPH tenant, as well as listing the responsibilities of WPH staff working in your home.

As a resident you should always...
  • Treat residents with respect
  • Maintain Gardens
  • Wear ID badges
  • Keep fixtures and fittings in good condition
  • Keep appointments and or advise resident of any problems
  • Leave a home in good condition at the end of the tenancy
  • Explain how long work will take to complete
  • Advise us of any damage
  • Arrange suitable protection for your home
  • Carry out small repairs, e.g. replacing inside door handles
  • Maintain health and safety standards
  • Replace light bulbs
  • Make a minimum amount of disruption
  • Fit your own washing machine, cooker or other appliances
  • Behave in a respectable manner
  • Decorate the inside of your property
  • Reconnect water, gas and electric supplies at the end of each day
  • Take responsibility for charges we make for damage or neglect
  • Clear dust and other waste at the end of each day
  • Repair and maintain any improvements you make yourself
