Disabled Persons' Housing Register
Sometimes, the best way of solving accessibility requirements is by moving home.
The Disabled Persons' Housing Register is a service provided by Wirral Council at their Wirralhomes department. The service matches disabled residents to available adapted properties and aims to make the best use of the few adapted properties that become available.
The system works by keeping a list of residents in need of adapted properties, and a list of all available adapted properties at 12 Housing Associations across Wirral. Applicants are then matched to properties as they become available.
How to Join the Disabled Persons' Housing Register - Apply to Wirralhomes for Urgent Needs Status due to disability.
- An occupational therapist will be asked to confirm your need for an adapted property.
- Wirralhomes will place you on the Disabled Persons Housing Register
- Wirralhomes will help you to apply for the adapted vacancies which are included in the Wirralhomes advert.
