Residents in Percy Road enjoyed the sun today at the official opening of a new communal garden area in Wallasey.

Angela Eagle MP came along to meet staff and residents at the opening of the garden, situated between Percy Road and Hawthorne Grove.

The new garden has replaced an area that was previously open to vandalism.  Groundwork Merseyside worked closely with local residents to transform the area, taking advice from Merseyside Police secured by design principles to make sure the gardens are safe and secure for everyone.

A focal point of the new grounds is the brick built barbeque, which residents hope to use over the summer to bring people together from the two surrounding streets.
